Y.A.C. Bros Era Shifts

In 2019, the San Francisco 49ers selected wide receiver Deebo Samuel in the second round of the NFL Draft. In his early years with the team, Samuel put up crazy numbers alongside star tight end George Kittle and second-string wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk. The three were deemed the Y.A.C. (yards after catch) Bros.

I think that Deebo shined during his first few years in San Francisco, but recently, with all his injuries, I have noticed a steady decline in his play level. I had a conversation with a friend of mine before preseason started in 2024, and we both agreed he looked healthy and strong for the new season.

I was not necessarily shocked when I saw that he requested a trade, but it stung, considering I thought he would retire as a Niner.
